Keziah was very friendly and comforting and went out of her way to make sure everything was sorted out for my dad to be sent to Mediclinic George. She made us all feel a little bit more positive and was a real ray of sunshine.

This nurse showed incredible care by being patient, kind, soft and gentle in her patient care approach. She ensured everything was in place, and if meds etc. Took too long, she would ensure to call and get it to us promptly. She made me feel at ease by cracking jokes and showing genuine empathy. Another patient had the following story. “I spent two days over New Years (January 2026) with my 1 year old daughter and a week later we were back in the hospital with our 3-year-old. Amy was one of the attending nurses on both occasions. Amy brought such a positive attitude each time she came into the room. She made my 3-year-old feel so comfortable and safe, and not scared in what can be a pretty horrible and scary situation. She engaged so well with us and both our children. Our 1-year-old gave her a tough time each time she needed to check vitals but it was never a burden for Amy. We are so thankful for her and her care.

Story of one Patient: “Sr Sylvie was the nicest nurse I've met here from the inserting of the drip, medication and even when I came out of surgery; she was kind, caring, understanding and every time she came to give my medication, she had a smile on her face. Just that made me feel that everything was going to be ok.”

Story of another patient: “Sr Silvy in the surgical ward is an amazing nurse. Nothing is ever too difficult. She made me feel so comfortable in a very sensible area. She must be so tired in her pregnancy but she doesn't let that phase her. The other nurses always ask her options and she answers with so much love and care. She has really made my stay very comfy.”

My child's veins are very thin and they struggled quite a bit, but done with much patience while my child was stressing. We had to move the IV the next day and this time it went so quickly.

Joshwin is a true inspiration to anyone. Anyone who wants to be worthy of the title can truly look up to him.

When my Gran went for a routine colonoscopy which ended up in an emergency laparoscopic surgery, he was so calm and explained the entire ordeal to us. What happened, how it happened and precisely how it is going to be fixed.

He spoke so that we understood. From filling out the forms to emotional support. That is exactly what you want in such an instance. If every single nurse was exactly like him. It would literally change the world.

A person with such mannerisms definitely makes an impact on the outside world too. No doubt. He sets a perfect example. Joshwin is an amazing person. He is a true role model.

Sr Koen is very efficient.  I phoned the preadmission clinic to get an appointment and I was helped the next day.  On learning I had never been to hospital before, she informed me of everything that goes on -from assuring me, to learning, pain management etc. 

I did not realise how nervous I was about all of this.  She has put me at ease.  Answered all the questions etc.  I am eternally grateful to Sr Koen for assuring me that everything is going to be fine.

Sr Koen reassured us about the knee replacement and what to expect.  She did my mom’s tests during preadmission and treated her with so much patience and empathy and even gave us her cell phone number in case we should have any questions later on.  Our first impression and visit with regards to my mother’s procedure was so positive and well organised.  We had been properly prepared and informed.

Taking care of sick babies is not nurse Alexander’s job - it’s her calling. I feel forever grateful for the professional care she gave my 6month old son - and who knew that in return she would be nursing something inside me too. Nurse Alexander was not only skilful but showed immense empathy, and practiced calm during many tearful outburst from such a young patient. She always had a smile and warmth about her, even though I knew the many late hours her job required. Her friendliness made the next day or round of treatment feel doable - and we felt ready to tackle the day as soon as we saw her in the morning. I would often compliment her and note that she?has a touch? with her patients. Now I believe her touch helped my son recover just as much as his medicine did. Thank you nurse, you are an angel walking among us.

I was having Plasmaparesis when there were some complications and I had quite serious. The nurse Stephanie was beyond fantastic. She must have taken about 45 minutes trying to stop it. During that time, she was so kind and encouraging. As King Charles Iii said: The darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion, but compassion must be paired with action.? I can’t think of a better way to describe her care, compassion and the encouragement it gave me as well as her skill. My specialist physician even described her as the best. I really believe she deserves something special for her work and compassionate attitude.

Story: This was my first surgery, and I was incredibly grateful for my experience at Mediclinic Winelands Orthopaedic Hospital. The high-care ward was immaculate, and the doctors (my surgeon and anaesthetist) and nursing staff made me feel comfortable before my surgery. Following my surgery, I would really like to thank the high-care staff in J ward (I was J104): Eva Simons, Warren Jacobs, and Georgina. I interacted mainly with Eva Simons and Warren Jacobs and really want to thank them for their patience in dissembling and reassembling all my paraphernalia when I needed to get up during my stay and meticulously completing the tomes of monitoring notes that my stay generated (I was particularly impressed by the A0 poster that was my vitals). I am grateful for Eva Simons; your positive spirit made me smile and thank you for answering all my questions. I felt I was in good care.
