The Southern African division operates 50 hospitals, 15 day clinics, 5 sub-acute facilities, and 6 mental health facilities across South Africa, as well as 3 private hospitals in Namibia, with a total of more than 8,945 beds. These figures include facilities operated by Intercare, in which Mediclinic Southern Africa holds a majority stake.
Mediclinic Southern Africa is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mediclinic Group.
Mediclinic Group currently has three operating divisions - Mediclinic Southern Africa, which operates throughout South Africa and Namibia; Hirslanden operates in Switzerland; and Mediclinic Middle East, which operates in the United Arab Emirates.
The group also holds a 29.9% minority interest in Spire Healthcare Group PLC, a leading private hospital group in the United Kingdom, which is also listed on the LSE.
