Dr Rentia Fourie graduated from the medical school of The University of Pretoria in 2008. After completing her internship and community service in South Africa, she worked as a General Practitioner in Pretoria.
She started her specialist training in 2012 at the University of the Free State and was mainly trained in Bloemfontein, but also spent time working in Kimberley in the Northern Cape. She completed five years of training in CardioThoracic Surgery and graduated in 2017 with a Magister’s degree in Medicine (CardioThoracic Surgery). She was admitted to the College of CardioThoracic Surgeons of South Africa after completing her FC Cardio (SA) examination in 2017.
Core Competencies: Aortic Valve Surgery, Bronchoscopu, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery, Lung Decortication, Intercostal Drain Placement, Lung Resection, Mediastinoscopy, Mitral Valve Surgery and VATS Procedure.
