Core competencies
Specialising in hand, wrist and upper‑limb orthopaedic care, Dr O’Farrell focuses on fractures of the shoulder, arm, metacarpals, phalanges, distal radius and scaphoid, as well as tendon and nerve repairs (including tendon transfers), carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel release, De Quervain’s and trigger‑finger release, arthroscopic ganglion excision, thumb‑base arthritis arthroplasty and joint fusions. He does arthroscopic shoulder surgery and shoulder replacements using 3D planning software. He is also pioneering advanced tendon repair techniques, allowing stronger repairs and earlier mobilisation.
