We make use of the international triage system and each patient will be triaged and seen by the doctor accordingly.

Obstetrics Unit

Mediclinic Cape Town is the only private hospital in the Western Cape with Baby Friendly accreditation, where early bonding through breastfeeding and Kangaroo Mother Care is encouraged. The unit offers general and private rooms with the latter subject to availability and an extra charge. All new mothers in our Maternity Ward will be treated to a complimentary manicure/pedicure.

Comprehensive guidance on all aspects of pregnancy, labour and baby care is provided. Antenatal and postnatal classes are available. Weekly tours of the obstetrics unit give prospective parents the opportunity to view the facilities, discuss the unit's services and meet the staff.

An Audiologist conducts hearing tests at a nominal charge and the hospital's Well Baby Clinic performs immunisations and baby milestone checks. Parents can also discuss their concerns and queries regarding their children's health and development.

The unit encourages Kangaroo Mothercare for premature babies, where the mother holds her baby on her chest to promote wellness and development.
