Mediclinic Cape Town will be undertaking a major facility upgrade marking it a substantial investment in enhanced healthcare infrastructure, demonstrating Mediclinic’s dedication to providing safe and efficient patient care.

The multi-phase redevelopment is expected to commence at the end of September 2026, and will include a new Paediatric Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, as well as refurbished additions offering patients and visitors a modern boutique-style experience.

“Every aspect of the upgrade has been designed to improve the patient journey while supporting our clinicians and staff in delivering outstanding healthcare services. This investment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our facility continues to meet the evolving needs of our patients and surrounding communities well into the future,” said Vernon Cordy, Hospital General Manager.

Poised to be a one-of-a-kind hospital within the Mediclinic portfolio, the upgrade will also refurbish private rooms, waiting areas, circulation areas and the main ground-floor lobby increasing capacity and reducing waiting times.

To ensure the environment is welcoming and accessible, the parking area will be extended with an additional 100 parking bays to reduce congestion, improve accessibility and bring convenience to patients and visitors.

The hospital upgrade is expected to become a landmark investment for the local community and its surrounding areas, delivering lasting benefits through improved healthcare infrastructure and enhanced patient experiences that reflect the expectations of a modern healthcare environment.
