As part of their commitment to investing back in the community it serves, Mediclinic Legae was able to collect and donate essential school supplies to learners at Morula Primary School, who required support with such supplies.
The initiative, carried out in partnership with Roots Butchery and Mabopane Square, provided much needed supplies to young learners as they continue their educational journey.
The donation drive focused on Grade 1 to 3 learners, providing them with complete school uniforms, school shoes, and school bags items essential for their daily learning, but which often remain out of reach for many families in the community.
The Hospital General Manager Dr Bale, who encouraged the fundraising initiative by the HR department, emphasised the importance of supporting education in the community. Known for his unwavering commitment to education, personal growth, and development, Dr Bale champions continuous learning not only in the community but also within the hospital itself, actively encouraging staff members to further their studies.
"Education is the foundation of our children's future, and no child should be held back because they lack basic school essentials," said Dr Bale. "We are proud to partner with Roots Butchery and Mabopane Square to make a tangible difference in these young learners' lives."
This initiative was a testament to what can be achieved when community stakeholders come together for a common cause. The collaboration between the healthcare facility, local business, and shopping centre demonstrates the power of partnerships in addressing social challenges.
School Principal Victor Moshwane expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, noting the significant impact it will have on the learners and their families, "This donation means the world to our learners and their families. When children have the proper school uniform and supplies, it boosts their confidence and allows them to focus on what truly matters their education.”
The educators at Morula Primary School played a crucial role in ensuring the day's success, working alongside the donors to ensure that each learner received their items and that the distribution process ran smoothly.
Mediclinic Legae extend special thanks to Principal Victor Moshwane and the dedicated educators at Morula Primary School for their collaboration and for making the donation day a resounding success.
Mediclinic Legae recognises that quality healthcare extends beyond the hospital walls and includes supporting the overall wellbeing and development of community members, especially children.
As the learners walked away with their new uniforms, shoes, and bags, smiles lit up their faces, a reminder that community initiatives like these create ripples of positive change that extend far beyond material donations.
