Mediclinic International constituent of the JSE SRI Index for the eighth time
Mediclinic International’s firm commitment to sustainable development has once again been recognised with its inclusion in the 2011 JSE SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) Index for the eighth consecutive year, after more than 100 listed companies were assessed.

The JSE SRI Index was launched in 2004 and Mediclinic International has been a constituent since inception. The index offers an aspirational benchmark, acknowledging those listed companies that apply the pillars of the triple bottom line – environmental, social and economic sustainability – and good corporate governance in their day-to-day business practices. It also serves as a tool for investors to assess companies on multiple levels.

“Good hospital services add value to the quality of life of patients and when it is delivered in a socially responsible way, it also benefits the whole community. Mediclinic’s sustained inclusion in the JSE SRI Index is a testament to this,” says Mediclinic International Chairman, Dr Edwin Hertzog.
