Medi-Clinic Southern Africa wishes to extend its congratulations to Dr Malebona Precious Matsoso on her appointment to the position of director general in the Department of Health.

The private hospital group feels that Dr Matsoso’s previous experience as the chairperson of the Medicines Control Council in the department as well as the knowledge she has gleaned through her tenure with the World Health Organisation as director of Public Health innovation and intellectual property will stand her in good stead in dealing with the collective challenges facing the South African healthcare industry. Dr Matsoso is also highly regarded for her positive disposition which will support the principle of inclusive management as promoted by the minister of health.
