The opening of the multi-million Rand Cape Gate Medi-Clinic private hospital in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, on 8 February 2010, will mark a new era of quality medical care to residents in this region.
This 140-bed hospital is situated on the N1 off-ramp in the heart of the greater Brackenfell and Kraaifontein region and is ideally positioned to support the healthcare needs of this growing community, and beyond.
The Cape Gate Medi-Clinic provides consulting rooms to 25 fulltime specialists who will also support the 24 hour emergency centre at the hospital. The Emergency Centre is staffed by experienced trauma qualified doctors and nursing professionals. In addition, ER24 has an operational base on the hospital premises, providing an ambulance and paramedic service on site.
The new facilities have created in excess of 200 fulltime employment opportunities for nursing, pharmacy, technical and administration staff.
“We have attracted first-rate medical specialists, nursing professionals and support staff and we are confident that we will be able to deliver ongoing superior medical care”, says Riaan Vorster, Hospital Manager at Cape Gate Medi-Clinic.
The Medi-Clinic group is well known for its commitment to quality care and its vision to be regarded as the most respected and trusted provider of hospital services among doctors, patients and funders of healthcare.
“This strong focus on quality care stretches beyond the empathy and professionalism of our nursing staff and the skills of our associated doctors and specialists”, says Koert Pretorius, CEO of Medi-Clinic Southern Africa. “Our dedication to excellence in healthcare is also evidenced in the quality of our facilities,” he adds.
Pretorius notes that part of the Medi-Clinic group’s success over the years has been a combination of the high standard of their hospital facilities and the application of leading medical technology and equipment. “These are equally important factors when it comes to the delivery of an exceptional healthcare experience to our patients.”
“We are looking forward to extending the Medi-Clinic care experience to the communities in this area. This investment in healthcare was made for their benefit now and for many years to come,” Pretorius concludes.
