As we grow older, we become more health conscious. Medi-Clinic would like to enrich your quality of life, thus we have developed the MEDI-CLINIC Senior Programme specifically focusing on people who are 60 years and older.
Participating Medi-Clinic hospitals present regular information sessions and health screenings for any person 60 years and older with a keen interest in his or her health.
Register now for our MEDI-CLINIC Senior Programme which offers the following:
Experts in the field of senior adult medical conditions present free information sessions on the symptoms, risk factors and treatment of such conditions. These information sessions will enable you to take control of your medical condition, should you have one, and make informed decisions about your treatment. You will also get the opportunity to ask questions at these sessions. People who register for the MEDI-CLINIC Senior programme will be invited to these sessions, but notifications will also be published in the local media.
MEDI-CLINIC Senior members have access to a health screening clinic where a nursing practitioner will perform health screening tests and provide relevant health information. Blood glucose, haemoglobin, blood cholesterol, blood pressure as well as urine tests are performed in the health clinics. The testing of blood glucose, haemoglobin and cholesterol involve a slight prick of the finger and the results are usually available after five minutes. Should your results not be within normal parameters, you will be referred to your doctor for a medical examination. After each visit, you will receive a health card on which test results and other medical information will be recorded. Show this card to your family doctor when visiting.
A minimal fee is charged for a visit to the health clinic. An appointment must be made to ensure the nursing practitioner is available. Please phone the nearest participating Medi-Clinic hospital to arrange an appointment.
Once you have registered you will always receive a quarterly health info pack consisting of a company magazine (Medi-Clinic Family), as well as an SAARP (South African Association for Retired People) magazine. This will be posted once we have verified your contact details.
Access to a dedicated nursing practitioner on a 24-hour basis will be available. Enquiries about the programme, our facilities and services as well as medical information can be answered via the telephone.
Any person 60 years or older can join the MEDI-CLINIC Senior programme by using one of the options below. We will confirm your registration:
